Safety and Community Guidelines
1. Introduction
The Notes To Neighbors (“NTN”) provides an introduction service for individuals who wish to exchange correspondence with others who share an interest in letter writing. By joining NTN, you agree that participation is entirely voluntary and that you are solely responsible for all communications and relationships you choose to engage in as a result of registering to be a pen pal.
NTN does not verify the identity, background, or intentions of members beyond the information they provide, nor do we monitor correspondence between members once contact has been made.
By participating in NTN, you accept full responsibility for any and all interactions, correspondence, or relationships that arise and agree that NTN its owner(s), and any representatives shall bear no responsibility or liability whatsoever for any loss, harm, or damages of any kind arising directly or indirectly from your participation.
2. Respectful Conduct
All members are expected to conduct themselves with courtesy, respect, and integrity. Discrimination, harassment, or inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated. NTN reserves the right to remove any member at its sole discretion, without notice, if behavior is deemed inappropriate, unsafe, or inconsistent with these guidelines.
3. Privacy and Information Sharing
The decision to share your personal or correspondence address is entirely your own. NTN will never share your address or contact details with other members. Once you choose to exchange addresses or correspondence directly with another member, all such interactions are at your own discretion and risk. Participants must not share or publish another participant’s personal details without their explicit consent.
4. Safety and Personal Responsibility
Always exercise caution and good judgment when corresponding with others. Do not share financial, identifying, or highly personal information with anyone you do not know and trust. NTN strongly advises against sending money, gifts, or valuables to other members. If at any time you feel uncomfortable with a pen pal, you are encouraged to cease communication immediately and notify NTN. NTN may, at its discretion, review complaints or concerns but is under no obligation to mediate or intervene in private correspondence between members.
5. Authenticity and Representation
All registration information and correspondence must be written personally and truthfully by the participant. The use of AI-generated, copied, or false content is not permitted. Participants are expected to represent themselves honestly and in good faith.
6. Boundaries and Consent
Participation in NTN does not entitle any member to ongoing communication from others. You must respect all personal boundaries and immediately discontinue contact if requested.
7. Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability
By participating in Notes To Neighbors, you acknowledge and agree that:
NTN does not conduct background checks or verify the information provided by members. NTN, its owner(s), and any associated persons accept no responsibility or liability for any actions, outcomes, or consequences resulting from introductions made through the NTN. All participation, communication, and exchange of personal information or correspondence are undertaken at your own risk. You agree to indemnify and hold harmless NTN and its representatives against any claims, losses, damages, or expenses arising from your participation.
8. Agreement to Terms
By submitting a registration form and providing your personal information to participate, you confirm that you: Have read, understood, and agree to abide by these Safety and Community Guidelines; Are 21 years of age or older; and accept full personal responsibility for all correspondence and relationships formed through NTN.
